So this year’s Eid decorations are finally done! wohoo! And what a journey it has been from planning the decorations to creating the DIY and bringing it all together. It has been so fun getting to the final stages of creating this look. Twenty Five Star and I decided quite early on that we wanted to go for an Indoor Garden theme this year.
So like last year this year I collaborated with my sister Twenty Five Star to create this post. And last year our inspiration was pink marble. And we created a really sweet, feminine and girly look. And by sweet, I mean also the food. The food we chose had a lot of sweet treats and pink icing which worked perfectly with our theme. Here is a look at our decorations last year > 9 Must Have Eid Decorations
This year, our theme is slightly different. Going for an Indoor Garden theme meant our central colour scheme was going to be green. But we didn’t choose to have green in all of the decorations, rather we liked the idea of being a bit more varied in the colours we used. This was to create a much more colourful, garden, summery type of feel.
We wanted to make it feel like we are outside. So the bright colours used would remind us of a beautiful summery day outside in your garden. Especially with the wisteria garland hanging down directly above the dining table, it was to give that feeling of sitting in your garden with flowers and trees hanging around you.
We loved the idea of having a wisteria garland, this was actually one of the first items we chose to have as a part of the decorations. It took a while to actually make this because I was trying to find the best way to hang it and create the look we wanted to achieve.
I made this DIY around a couple of weeks before we created the Indoor Garden theme. I have uploaded the DIY for the wisteria garland on my Youtube Channel, but haven’t made a blog post about it yet. If you would like to see the Youtube tutorial for it, here is the link > How To Make A Wisteria Garland
I will be writing up in more detail about how to make one of your own soon. I have had quite a few questions on Instagram asking how I made it and hung it and where everything is from. I will write it up all in detail very soon in a separate blog post.
Now, onto the food. We purposely chose to have less sweet food in comparison to last year’s decorations where we chose a lot of sweet food. This year, however, because it is an indoor garden theme we decided to make the food palette very fresh and green.
The lemons inside the jar, the fresh lettuce and tomatoes, the grapes, the watermelon and all of the fruits were brought together to create a fresh and more healthy food palette. This was also to create that summery, outdoorsy, fresh-food-feel.
Saying that I know you have probably noticed there are still sweet treats popping up around the table. The best way I can justify that is, it is an Eid party after all, and what party goes without sweet cakes and doughnuts?
In creating this post, we actually collaborated with a few small brands that sell Eid decorations. These brands were lovely enough to send us items from their party decorations which brought this whole look together. If you’d like to find out where we got everything from, keep on reading. I will just go through all of the brands and let you know what they sent us and how we used them.
Silhouette Sue – We were sent Eid cake toppers, cupcake toppers and hanging Eid Mubarak signs from Silhouette Sue. We used the little cupcake toppers on the mini cakes and on top of the profiteroles and doughnuts. We also spread the Eid Mubarak signs around the table. We absolutely loved the sparkly silver and how it gave the decorations that subtle little bit of glitz that it needed.
Islamic Moments – The Eid Mubarak card in this picture is from Islamic Moments. They sell a lovely selection of very classy Eid cards and Islamic stationary. Their prints and designs are timeless and they have a little something for every Islamic Ocassion.
Happy Donuts – We received a lovely selection of ring doughnuts from Happy Donuts. They are a Doughnut company situated in Portobello Market. They sell freshly baked doughnuts in really delicious flavours. We hung the doughnuts on a doughnut wall which really went well with our theme. The doughnuts were so colourful each one decorated in a unique way. Exactly what we needed.
Decorsphere – From this wonderful company, we chose to have the Doughnut Wall, Confetti Balloons, and a silver Tassel Garland. We loved the way all of these looked. The doughnut wall with the doughnuts became like the centrepiece of the table (even though it was closer to the edge it still worked as a centrepiece). We put the confetti balloons next to the doughnut wall. And used the tassels around the doughnut wall as table decorations.
The Muslim Sticker Company – We chose a Cookie Cutter Set, Silver Star Fairy Lights, and a Star and Moon Foil Balloons set. We originally wanted to bake cookies and use the cookie cutters to shape them but that plan didn’t quite work out. So we just stuck to using cookie cutters on watermelon. We placed the Silver Star Fairy Lights across the table as table decorations.
One star foil balloon was used next to the confetti balloons. We wanted to also use a moon foil balloon from the set, but it accidentally popped while we were pumping it with helium. Although it popped we think that even the green star balloon looked amazing on its own. And the fact that it was green really brought the greens together.
Live Love Gift – Live Love Gift sell an amazing range of contemporary Eid card designs. They range from Eid cards to children’s craft kits and stickers. I absolutely loved the Eid cards they sent. It had gorgeous floral elements to it which went really well with our wisteria.
Al Party Favours – We got some Reversible Foliage Pyramids from Al Party Favours. And we actually bought the gift favours from them ourselves. They went so well with our whole Indoor Garden theme! Both of the sides of the pyramids were absolutely gorgeous! The dainty leaf patterns looked great with everything on the table.
I hope you enjoyed our Indoor Garden theme Eid decorations post this year! Months of planning and prepping went into designing and creating the whole look. From making the wisteria garland, to planning and baking the little cakes. The little cakes were made by Twenty Five Star and the recipe is on her blog. It is a Pink Naked Fig cake. For this recipe though, she just exchanged the figs and pomegranate toppings for strawberries. Head over to her blog here to check it out > Twenty Five Star
We hope you enjoyed it and it can be a source of inspiration for a party that you may be decorating and hope an Indoor Garden theme is something you might want to use too.
(Most of the decorations in this post were sent as gifts, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.)
